William E. Ressler

A memorial service celebrating the life William E. Ressler, 85, of Heath, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with Pastor Bob Long as celebrant. Private interment will be held at Fredonia Cemetery.

A 28 year maintenance employee with Owens Corning Technical Center, Willie died Thursday May 3, 2012 at his home. He was born April 2, 1927 in Granville to the late Anna Hoskinson and Frank Ressler.

A 1945 graduate of Granville High School, Willie was a member of Moose Lodge #499 in Newark. Known as Wheeling Willie, he enjoyed gambling, most especially his trips to Las Vegas and Wheeling. He will fondly be remembered for his kindness, giggle, and numerous friendships.

Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathi and Woody Dodrill of Heath, Julie and Robert McClintock, and Karyn and Glenn Waters both of Newark; son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Angela Ressler of Newark; grandchildren and their spouses, Izabelle Ressler, Zacharie Zimmer, Amy Gardner, Sara Ety, Nicholas (Melissa) McClintock, Ethan McClintock, Melissa (Justin) Edwards, and Glenn Waters II; eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his wife Anita (Behrens) Ressler who died in 1988 and his sister, Mary Lou Frost.
