A memorial service celebrating the life of Carol A. Blanchong Sutliff, M.D., 49, of Granville, will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with Rev. Casey Wilson as celebrant. The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon until 2:00 P.M. in Shepherd Hall at the church.

Dr. Blanchong passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at her home. She was born in Lyons, Ohio to the late Helen (Repka) and David Blanchong.

A pediatric oncologist at Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Dr. Blanchong was a graduate of Northeast Ohio College of Medicine. She did her residency at The Ohio State University Hospital and Children’s Hospital in Columbus followed by a three year fellowship at Duke University and O.S.U. and Children’s Hospitals. Her undergraduate work was completed at Kent State University. 

Carol was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church where she taught Vacation Bible School, Youth Sunday School classes and bible studies, volunteered with health ministries, and participated in adult bible studies. She was an advocate for and volunteered with Ronald McDonald House and helped work the phone banks for Children’s Hospital. Most importantly, Carol was a passionate and devoted mother who loved family. She will be remembered for her loyalty, dedication, and perseverance.

In addition to her father, surviving are husband, Brian T. Sutliff; children, Cailyn, Cristin, Corinne, and Garrett; siblings and their spouses, Cathy Blanchong, David and Patty Blanchong, Russell and Nikki Blanchong, Bill and Tina Blanchong, Bob and Monica Blanchong, and Diane Blanchong; mother-in-law, Bev Buttermore; brother-in-law, Gary Sutliff and his wife, Medha; and sister-in-law, Marcia Sutliff Davis and her husband, Stephen.
