I got to know George and Lorraine during a very difficult time for them over the last few years at my previous employer. And although it was a challenge for them both, I was blessed to have those sweet and quiet moments with them to hear Lorraine play her music or to have George tell me stories of days gone by. They are a blessing to all those who know them. I offer my condolences to Lorraine and their children and extended family during this difficult time of transition.

I was very saddened to learn today of George's passing. I had the great pleasure of working with him at the GolfWorks and can still hear his cheerful greeting to everyone in sight .. 'top of the morning to you!" he would boom out. I send big hugs to you, Lorraine, and my thoughts are with the entire Family.

george was one of a kind, he excelled at everything he undertook. we played on all the teams at colby and he was my roomate at the ato fraternity house along with another newtown star, jim keefe . george was jims catcher both in presque maine and colby college . it all began at newton high school..i waas in george and lorraines wedding party and he was an usher at my wedding in villanova pa. i helped george get his first job after his army duty, we worked at arrow shirts division of cluett peabody. he later went into another textile venture and ended up in the golf supply business. he enjoyed living in granville ohio where lorraine was the music director at dennison univ. george and i stayed in constant touch over the 70 years we knew each other. we both made the ato all america team in the same year. george for baseball and i was the football selection . we were both proud of that connection. the world is a better place because george cared for the environment and everything that made everyone his friend.. god bless his soul. he is missed by many. he has wonderful family ties and loved his children and wife more than anyone could.. he was my closest friend .. chet harrington colby '51

I was most blessed to have had the opportunity to play tennis and platform with a great group of friends. I think they would all agree with me that George was second to none. As my wife always said he was a true gentleman. He was a competitor but the best possible example of how you should be competitive. I thank God for allowing me to know George. He was not perfect. He didn't know how to keep score in tennis and had a poor excuse for a drop shot.
My condolence to his family.

Deepest sympathies to Lorraine and family on George's passing. Many memories of he and Lorraine both at their beautiful home, and of their donations to the DOWS Charity Auctions. George's beautiful wood creations will definitely be cherished for years to come.
