A funeral service celebrating the life of Gordon David Fink, 50, of Granville will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, in Granville with Rev. Kevin Koske as celebrant.

Gordon passed away unexpectedly due to deep vein thrombosis that caused a pulmonary embolism while on business in West Chester, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, July 13, 2016.  He was born in Palo Alto, CA to Walter E. and Margaret (MacLean) Fink of Granville.

Gordon earned his mechanical engineering degree at California State University, Chico and was an employee of Klarity Medical Products in Newark.  He loved entertaining friends, traveling, snow skiing, and mountain biking. He had a knack for fixing and building things and loved tinkering with his old Ford Bronco.  Mostly, he loved being a father to his three sons whom he adored and was very much a part of their daily lives and active in their sports. Gordon and his boys had traveled and camped across America; together they had visited 49 different states.

In addition to his parents, Gordon is survived by his sons, Evan, Charlie, and William Fink all of Granville; former wife and close friend, Susan Maltbie of Granville; sister, Karol Fink of Anchorage, Alaska; a whole suite of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his cat, Nutsy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of his 13 year old son, Will, who is currently battling brain cancer, to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, Attn: Abigail Brumme, 711 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43205, [KF1] or Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 16810, Columbus, OH 43216-6810.

Arrangements are in the care of McPEEK-HOEKSTRA FUNERAL HOME in Granville.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.

**A reception with light snacks and drinks will immediately follow Gordon's service. Everyone is encouraged to attend. The address of the host location will be available at the service.**
