A memorial service for Mary Alice Hyman of Granville will be held May 21, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, in Granville with Pastor Bob Long as celebrant.  Mary Alice passed away Saturday, April 9th, at her residence.  She was born on April 24, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA to Oscar P. Curry and Mary Alice Sowash Curry.

Alice graduated with a degree in education from Villa Maria College in Erie, PA.  She taught business courses at Heath, Granville, and Lakewood High Schools and in 1972 she was awarded the Heath High School Key Club Educator Service Award, for her unselfish dedication and service to students.  She was a long-time member of Centenary United Methodist Church of Granville where she was active in church circle. Alice was also a member of the Granville Village Guild and enjoyed playing bridge with several groups. 

Surviving are her daughters Carol Albright and husband Phil Walpole, and Catherine Littleton; granddaughter Wendy Gardiner and husband Mike; nephews and their wives, Sam and Molli Hyman, Hunter Hyman, Jeff and Elena Hyman, and Dave and Diane Hyman.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Curtis Hyman who died in 1982.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Minister's Discretionary Fund at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville, OH 43023, Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Dr., Heath, OH 43056, or Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, OH  43058.
