Marion W. Whitehead

A memorial service celebrating the life of Marion W. Whitehead, 69, of Newark, formerly of Granville, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, July 29, 2013 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with Pastor Bob Long as celebrant.

Marion died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in Heath at Chapel Grove Inn. He was born December 18, 1943 in Granville to the late Henry E. and Roberta (Williams) Whitehead, graduated from Granville High School (1961) and Wilmington College (1971) and served in the U.S. Army (1965-1967). Marion was most proud of his family - ancestors and surviving sons and daughters-in-laws, Mark and Lane Whitehead of Memphis, TN and Michael and Heather Whitehead of Granville; grandchildren, Coleman, Jana Lane, Mary Frances, Sullivan, Shane, and Quinn; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Buffy Whitehead of Granville; niece and nephew, Kim Lohnes and Dave Whitehead. Marion loved spending time outdoors on the family farm breeding and raising registered Angus cattle and at home reading or watching the Reds and Buckeyes. He died without regrets and grateful for the life he had. Marion will be remembered for all the indelible impressions he left on those who happened to cross his path.
