Obituary

Nancy Harmon Clark, age 89, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Otterbein Senior Living in Granville. She was born on October 8, 1936, in Needham, Massachusetts to the late Henry David and Thelma Marion (Larson) Harmon.

Nancy graduated from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, where she met her husband, William Potter Clark. The couple raised their sons, Andrew and Jeff, in Louisville, Kentucky, where Nancy earned two master’s degrees in education and counseling psychology from the University of Louisville. She began her career as a teacher and later served as a guidance counselor at Louisville Collegiate School for 26 years. After retiring, Nancy and Bill moved to Granville in 2005 to be closer to their grandchildren. She was a member of Centenary Methodist Church and the unofficial Whit’s coffee club.

Nancy enjoyed making her house a home, creating beautiful floral arrangements from Bill’s garden, and gathering with friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, William, whom she married October 12, 1958; sons, Andrew H. (Karen) Clark of Canton, Michigan and their children Elisabeth (Robert) Hines, Will (Somin) Clark, and Tessa Clark; Jeffrey P. (Kim) Clark of Granville, Ohio and their children Meredith Clark, Megan Clark, (fiancé Alec Vanderhulst), and Mason Clark; her sister, Barbara Harmon Sawyer; nieces, Susan LeBlanc, Lucinda Jefferson, and Priscilla Lord; and many grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Jeremy J. Sawyer.

The family will observe a private celebration of Nancy’s life on her 90th birthday.
