Nancy M. Hood

Nancy M. Hood, age 85 of Granville, passed away Saturday May 24, 2025, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born December 8, 1939, in Newark to the late Kenneth G. and Elizabeth (Harris) Smith. Nancy graduated from Jacksontown High School where she was a cheerleader. She was an avid crafter who enjoyed quilting, ceramics and won awards for painting China. Nancy worked at Taylors Drug Store for many years and Cunard’s Jewelry Store. She was a member of the Friendship Club, Eastern Star and Heath Christ United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John C. “Jack” Hood; sister, Patricia Smith. Nancy is survived by her two sons, John Kenneth (Stacy) Hood and James Robert Hood; grandchildren, Brandon J. (Kelli) Parker; great grandsons, Jaxon, Carsen and Westen Parker.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM Monday June 2, 2025, at McPeek Hoekstra Hoskinson Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect Street where a funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Monday June 2, 2025. Burial immediately following at Maple Grove Cemetery.
