Rocky H. Higgins

A celebration of life gathering will be held for Rocky H. Higgins, 67, of Newark, from 5-7 P.M. Thursday, December 9, 2021 at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133. S. Prospect St., Granville with remembrances at 6:30 P.M..

A Marine veteran, Rocky passed away December 5, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. He was born in Zanesville to the late Leo and Patricia Higgins.

Rocky was a retired truck driver and most recently worked at Kohl’s. He was a Buckeye fan, enjoyed going to the beach, and loved riding his motorcycle. The open road was a perfect match for his free spirit. He was strong-willed, humorous, had a green thumb, and loved God’s medicine. He will be remembered as a loving father with a big heart who cherished family.

Surviving are his children and their spouses, Richard and Gricelda Higgins, Bridgette and Shonda Rine, Stephanie and Eric Lysinger, and Ashley and Michael Walters; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Glen, Roger, and Don; and his faithful canine companion, Weston.

In addition to his parents, Rocky was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
