A graveside service celebrating the life of Thomas A. “Tommy” Mills, age 62, of Newark, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 23, at Fredonia Cemetery with Pastor Keith Sjostrand officiating.
Friends may call prior to the graveside service from 10-11 a.m. at McPeek Hoekstra Hoskinson Funeral Home, 133 South Prospect Street in Granville.
Tommy was born in Newark, Ohio, to the late William Mills and Rosemary Blevins Mills. Our beloved brother passed away suddenly and was immediately safe in the arms of Jesus.
He had an enjoyable childhood playing on the banks of Cat Run Creek, and during his high school years he was a Special Olympics champion. In his adult life, he was always on the go in his Safari van, not missing a single yard sale or flea market looking for those hidden treasures. He made a point of knowing what was going on with everybody. He will always be remembered for his tender heart and his love and care for his family and friends. Our special brother will forever live in our hearts.
Surviving are his siblings Mary, Bobbie, Nancy and Susan, as well as his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by brothers, Bill and John and sister, Patty.
Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Ohio at https://sooh.org.
