Virginia deVyver Fletcher, age 94 of Granville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026, after a brief illness.

She was born July 30, 1931, in Hanover, Pennsylvania to the late Frank Traver and Marion (Roth) deVyver.

Ginny was a 1949 graduate of Durham High School in Durham, North Carolina and graduated from Oberlin College in 1953. While at Oberlin she met the love of her life, Daniel O. Fletcher who has been her partner for over 70 years. They married on June 18, 1955.

In 1966 Ginny and Dan moved to Granville and made it their home. They became members of the First Presbyterian Church of Granville where Ginny worked as church secretary for 18 years. After retiring, she volunteered for many years at the Granville Public Library and was an active member of P.E.O. Ginny and Dan were founding residents at Kendal at Granville (now Otterbein.) Ginny was actively involved in establishing a community there, at one point serving as president of the residents’ association.

Ginny traveled the world with Dan, including a round-the-world trip for a semester at sea. She inspired a love of travel in her children and grandchildren.

In later years, while struggling physically, Ginny retained her sharp mind and amazing memory, maintaining her independence, often seen out and about driving her electric scooter.

Ginny is survived by her husband Daniel Oliver Fletcher; children, Elizabeth Fletcher (Russell) Blatt, Robert S. (Suzanne Fletcher Bradshaw) Fletcher; grandchildren, Rachel (Nikhil) Nadkarni and their daughter, Mina, Samuel (Stephanie Lee) Blatt, Gwyneth Fletcher.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at College Cemetery, Denison University. In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Ginny may be made to Otterbein Granville’s Partner Appreciation Fund, 2158 Columbus Rd, Granville, OH, 43023.
