A Mass of Christian Burial for Albert J. Pyzik will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 6, 2021 at The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark Granville Rd., Granville with Msgr. Paul P. Enke as celebrant.
Al was born in Lansford, PA to the late Albert S. and Sophie Pyzik. He passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 31, 2021 in Granville at the age of 72.
A graduate of DeSales University, Al was a chemist and earned his Doctorate in Geochemistry at the University of Maryland, College Park. He came to Ohio for employment with Owens Corning and was later an adjunct professor at Denison University and The Ohio State University in Newark.
A member of St. Edwards Church, Al sang in the choir and also with the Denison University Community Choir. He was a sports enthusiast and had a variety of interests which included reading, landscaping, cooking, eating, and working with evolving solar panel technology. He was a dedicated runner training for his 12th marathon. Al will be remembered for his loving nature, intelligence, persistence, patience, and outgoing personality.
Surviving him are his wife of 46 years, Iris; daughter, Lienne; brother, Peter (Carolyn) Pyzik; sister, Ann Louise (Joseph) Colduvell; and his current favorite feline, Ash.
