Clodagh Grayson Obituary

A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Clodagh H. Grayson, 95, of Granville, formerly of New Kensington, PA, at The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, Granville, Ohio with Msgr. Paul P. Enke as celebrant. Private interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in New Kensington, Pennsylvania.

A beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Clodagh passed away July 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania to the late Samuel and Alice Cribbs Hunger. She was a graduate of Vandergrift High School, Class of 1944.

Clodagh worked beside her husband, John, at their State Farm agency. She was member of St. Edward Church in Granville and formerly a member of Mount St. Peter Church in New Kensington. A devout and faithful woman, Clodagh was an excellent cook and Hostess. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, attending the Pittsburgh Symphony, and playing bridge.

Surviving are her daughters, Cathy Schumaker and Gwenn Grayson; grandsons and their wives, Damon and Kristine (Campolo) Schumaker of Saratoga Springs, NY and Aaron and Erin Gilbert-Schumaker of Newark, OH; great grandchildren, Shelby and Sydney Schumaker, and Nickalus and Isaiah Schumaker; step great grandson, Brayden McElhiney; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Clodagh was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, John R. Grayson, who died March 1, 2021; and siblings, Mary Leslie, Olive Ceraso, Dorothy Hunger, Sam Hunger, Ruth Leach, Robert Hunger, George Hunger, Richard Hunger, Alice Betty Lukehart, and Walter Hunger.
