David B Pratt

David Benjamin Pratt, Vietnam veteran, plumber, and life-time resident of Granville passed away June 12, 2021 at his home surrounded by family at the age of 75. He was born in Columbus to the late David Edward and Louise Christine (Oatman) Pratt.

After graduating from Granville High School, David served in the U.S. Army from 1964 -1967 in both Germany and Vietnam as a SP4 (T). Traveling remained a constant throughout his life whether attending Philmont Scout Ranch with his son, fishing with his parents and sister in Canada and Florida, traveling to Hawaii with his daughter and granddaughter, or globetrotting with his wife to Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, and Nova Scotia. He also enjoyed woodworking, crafts, and his time spent as Quartermaster with Pack 3 and Assistant Scout Master with Troop 18. In 2019, David was privileged to travel to Washington DC on an Honor Flight.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen “Terry” Pratt; daughter, Cynthia L. Pratt (Matt Ricker); sons, Michael D.  (Nadia) Pratt and Robert G. (Cara) Pratt;, grandchildren, Brittany A. Vankirk (Ryan Grisez), Jacob B. Pratt, Hana Malik-Pratt, Eva Malik-Pratt and Catherine Pratt; sister, Betty L Sears; nephew, Thomas Sears; and niece, Tina-Sears-Pik.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his faithful canine, Bruno.

The family will receive friends July 6, 2021 from 4 to 6 P.M. at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com. Private interment services will be held with military honors rendered by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
