Janet Englefield Obituary

Janet Louise Barton Englefield, age 92, passed away to be with her beloved husband Bill and her Lord and Savior on October 31, 2022, in her home surrounded by her dedicated HomeInstead caregivers and loving family.

Janet was proud to have been born and raised in Massillon, Ohio. She had a degree in nursing and enjoyed volunteer work with the Red Cross Blood Mobile, and memberships in Twig and 20th Century Club. She loved the OSU Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and the theater.

She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Fredrick William Englefield III; her parents, William Arthur Barton and Zelda Cain Barton; and sisters, Ginger (Ed) Bates, Bette (Dale) Adams, Nancy (Jim) Cashen.

Janet will be truly missed by her brother William Arthur Barton (Lois); her three children, Fredrick William (Bill) Englefield IV (Kim), Cynthia (Cindi) Englefield (Dave Koehler), and Benjamin (Ben) Barton Englefield (Lisa); grandchildren, Will (Lindsay), Anthony (Amber), Carissa (Danny), Lauren, Michael (Alyssa), Alison, Ashley (Neil), and Cody; sixteen great-grandchildren; and her faithful companion that she adored, Lily.

It all started on a blind date that started with the flip of a coin and resulted in a blessed life of many adventures, tons of good friends and personal and professional success. May God bless this kind, loving and generous woman with a peaceful rest knowing that she did life well with grace, love, and kindness. Let her lessons be passed down through the generations.
