Theron Rogerson

A bright and easy smile would greet you, shortly followed with a reason to laugh.  That is how Theron Eli Rogerson will be remembered. Theron passed away May 13, 2022, at the age of 19, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Columbus to Jamie and Chrisi Rogerson.

A member of St. Edward’s Church, Theron was an environmental biology student at Mount Vernon Nazarene University where he was a member of the track team and was passionate about running hurdles. He was a 2021 graduate of Granville High School where he also participated in track, earning 2 LCL titles in the 110HH and 300IH races his senior year.

Theron had a natural way of making people laugh with wit and humor, creating silly words or phrases.  He loved to achieve goals and did so with a gritty determination and dogged work ethic. He was a determined and steadfast individual in all his pursuits.  He cherished family and had a deep love and admiration of his brothers. His happy and bubbly personality will forever remain in the hearts of all his family and friends.

Surviving are his loving parents, Jamie and Chrisi Rogerson; brothers, Hunter and Chase; paternal grandparents, Emilie and Vince Fusco; maternal grandparents, Denver and Sandi Haught; and aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

Preceding Theron in death is his paternal grandfather, Barry Rogerson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 20, 2022 at The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark Granville Rd., Granville with Msgr. Paul P. Enke as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, P.O. Box 185, Granville, OH 43023 for a track scholarship that will be named for Theron.
