Tim Kohut Obituary

Tim R. Kohut, 64, of Hebron, passed away January 20, 2023 after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Birch Bay, Washington to Stefne and Robert Kohut, an Air Force veteran serving at Blaine Air Force Station at the time.

Being the oldest child and independent, Tim joined the Air Force after graduation from high school. He attained the rank of Sergeant and was stationed overseas in England and traveled the European theater. He also enjoyed his time spent in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. Tim finished his military career at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. where he specialized in electronic communications. He would later serve as a government employee for the Department of Defense for 30 years, and most recently was employed at DCSC where he was an IT Specialist.

Tim loved being outside, hunting, fishing, or motorcycle riding. He kept active playing tennis, skiing, had a deep appreciation for nature whether it be in the mountains, forests, or on a lake, and was a passionate Ohio State Buckeyes fan.  He will be remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart, and love of neighbor. Tim was a loving, thoughtful father and husband that was devoted to his family.

In addition to his parents, Tim is survived by his wife, Maryna; son, William; siblings and their spouses, Tami and Russell Blackiston, Rob and Diane Kohut, Gary and Barb Kohut, and John and Annette Kohut; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Tim’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville with Rev. Karen J. Chakoian as celebrant.
