William H Summitt

A private graveside service will be held for William (Bill) H. Summitt, 95, at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville conducted by his Masonic Brethren.

Bill passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Randall Residence in Newark. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John William and Evelyn Marcella Summitt.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in mechanical engineering, Bill retired in 1987 from the Newark Air Force Base where he had worked with facility engineering. He was a member of University Masonic Lodge #631, Scottish Rite, and Aladdin Shrine. In his down time, he enjoyed carpentry, building models, and flying.

Surviving are his children and their spouses, Jeff and Marsha Summitt, Ron and Beverly Parker, Pam Kuchta, Susie Parker and five great grandchildren Hannah, Wyatt, Jack, Garrett, and Allie Kuchta.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Sue of 32 years, son-in-law, Jim Kuchta; and sister, Evelyn Virginia Williams.
