Genevieve E. Strout

A memorial service celebrating the life of Genevieve E. Strout, 90, of Centerburg, will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, June 19, 2015 at Bennington Chapel United Methodist Church, 5924 Bennington Chapel Rd., Johnstown, OH with son-in-law Pastor Bob Long officiating, assisted by Pastor Cheryl Evans and grandson Pastor J.D. Walser. Burial will follow at Bennington Chapel Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mrs. Strout passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 9, 1924 in Camden, New Jersey to the late George and Genevieve King.

A Navy Wave, Genevieve served her country proudly during World War II. She was employed as a custodian by Northridge-Hartford Schools and was a full time mom and homemaker. Jeanne's unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was evident to all by her contagious smile, generous, loving and cheerful spirit. She was a 50 year member of Bennington Chapel UMC where she served as treasurer. She enjoyed Elvis, was a 4H advisor and an avid walker. Jeanne will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and deeply missed by all. Surviving are her husband of 68 years Carl Strout Sr.; children, Linda Bigboy, Carol (Ron) Jones, Bonnie (Patrick) Northcott, Gayemarie (Bob) Long, Carl D. (Kathy) Strout Jr., Melody (Sonny) Shull, Lisa (Guy) Hadley, Donna Strout, and Richard (Liz) Strout, Sherrie (Mark) Webb, James (Kari) Strout: 32 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and sister, Rita Drue.

In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her brothers, George and Eugene King, sister Margaret Grady and grandson, Keith Homstad Jr.
