Welcome to the memorial page for

Lucille Ann Van Order

November 13, 2016

Lucille Ann (Cenci) Van Order, 90, of Columbus, passed away November 13, 2016 at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Newark. She was born in 1926 in Columbus, the youngest child of the late Pasquale and Ida Rose (Pasquarelli) Cenci.

The epitome of an Italian mother, Lucy loved her family and was a devoted, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was faithful to her church and church families at Our Lady of Victory, where her family were founding members, and where she attended school and worshiped most of her life, and The Church of St. Edward the Confessor where she found a second spiritual home amidst the generous love of so many parishioners and pastoral staff. She will be remembered for her giving spirit, humor, warmth, and willingness to accept all people. Lucy was a fighter despite serious health issues and never ceased inspiring or giving to her children and friends.

Surviving are her loving children, Kevin Michael and Robin Ann Van Order, granddaughter, Carly Ann, and great grandson, Jace Michael (the joy of her heart), sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Cenci; many nieces, nephews, and cousins along with dear friend and caregiver, Barbie Edison and close family friend, Ellen Romer.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert E. Van Order, Jr., who died in 2006; brothers, Camillo “Zeke” and Andrew Cenci; dear sister and brother-in-law, Alma and Gregory Salvatore; and niece, Rita Salvatore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark Granville Rd., Granville with Msgr. Paul P. Enke as celebrant. Following a luncheon, burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass.

The family is most appreciative of the care provided by Dr. Edward Pollyea, long- time family physician, and Donna May, who with Barbie, cared for Lucy as they would have for their own mothers.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward the Confessor Church, 785 Newark Granville Rd., Granville, OH 43023 or Our Lady of Victory, 1559 Roxbury Rd., Columbus, OH 43212.
