I am honored to have been a student of Dr Stilson's at OSU in the mid 80s. I remember him as a kind and beloved teacher. I am so overwhelmingly impressed after reading about his service to our country, I wish I would have known his story back when I was his student. Thank you so much Dr Stilson, for your service to our beloved country and all the veterinarians you educated.

I would like to offer my condolences and prayers to you with the passing of Dr Stilson. I first met Dr Stilson in 1979 when he hired me to work for him on starting on July, 1, 1979 in the OSU College of Medicine Department of Animal Laboratories. Dr Stilson could see farther into the future than most when it came to administrative issues. He was also a key person in starting the American Society of Laboratory Animal Practitioners (ASLAP) back in the 1970's which remains active with over 600 members today. Dr Stilson had a significant positive impact on my life as a veterinarian. Thank you Dr. Silson.

It was my honor to serve under MG Stilson, Jr. I was a SSG in the 5th Bn, 28th FA, when in 1979 I became one of the first three hundred (MILTECH’s) in the nation, a MILTECH is an active duty AST (Admin/Supply Technician). His staff sent out personal letters to the two of us from Ohio in the 83rd, ARCOM, We next met the General when Btry B, 5th Bn, 28th FA to DESC (Defense Electronic Supply Center) in Dayton, Ohio he was the one many officers that day who came to the ceremony and shook each soldier’s hands and wished us all well. It was a great and perfect day that I cheerios.

I served with MG(RET) Stilson when he commanded the 83rd ARCOM. He taught me a great deal about multi-service interaction which I carried with me until my retirement in 1991. He was also the first to call when husband Bill Mackey died 5 years ago, offering his help in any way. He had known and worked with my husband nearly 30 years. I truly appreciated his protection of and care for all his boys and then of course his "\ Lady soldiers". i will miss him.

I began to get to know Alden a little over a year ago. Before that our conversations were a handshake and greeting across a pew at church. When I first visited Alden in his home I began to learn the breadth and passion of this amazing man. He had a passion for his family and the United States Army and a deep concern for those who have served our nation and paid a personal price. He was particularly well regarded by those who had served directly under him. I admired him greatly.

I was fortunate to be able to visit him briefly when he was first moved to long term therapy. It was with sadness that I left there knowing the road to recovery would be long and toilsome. I feel that God has saved him that journey and he is now with his beloved wife, Ginny.

I am disappointed that I will not be able to attend his memorial service next week as we will be out-of-state in recognition of a grandson's high school graduation. Believe that we will be with you in spirit if not able to be there in person.

It is with great sadness to learn of General Stilson's passing. My husband, Stan (USAR, CW4 retired) served along side the General for many years. I also had the honor of working for him when he was both Deputy Commander and Comanding General of the 83rd ARCOM. It was an honor to server with him.

My condolence to his family. You will be in my prayers.

I was shocked and disappointed to learn of Alden's passing. I had planned to visit him over the weekend. He and I shared the same birthday and we sat near each other at church. I have missed him dearly the months he was away and then following the stroke. He was a dear man and I know being unable to speak had to be very frustrating for him. He is healthy, whole, and reunited with the love of his life. I will especially think of him on our shared birthday and all patriotic holidays. It has been a blessing to know him.
